The teams are likely to be similar as in front of the Sky cameras, though Tom Wood is a possible swap for Wayne Madsen. Although Wayne is in the squad, the greater need may be for his involvement in Sunday's four-day decider.
Having had two abandoned and two losses so far, the chances of qualification are slim, but we all know the mitigating circumstances that have made it challenging this year. We will aim to win all those remaining and see what happens.
Lancashire may welcome back Luke Wood, but Liam Livingstone and Saqib Mahmood are still on England squad duty.
There was little between these sides on Monday, but a change of luck for Derbyshire could easily see tomorrow's result go the other way. The fielding was excellent, the bowling improved and the the mood is obviously good.
Fingers crossed we get out there, this time.
Is there an explanation as to why Lancashire are able to play a home game on an out ground (Liverpool) why aren’t Derbyshire allowed to play any of their home games on any of their out grounds ie Chesterfield?
ReplyDeleteIt isn't that we aren't allowed, Ranger. We made the decision to allow West Indies, Pakistan and Australia, plus England Ladies to use the biosecure County Ground to further the cause of international cricket AND bring in valuable income for the club.
DeleteChesterfield is in the middle of a public park and cannot be made bio secure. It would also render the local cricket club homeless, same as any others.
Lancashire could make Aigburth bio secure and Liverpool CC have been supportive of this and played matches elsewhere in this period. If anyone from Liverpool CC reads this and has additional info, please get in touch!
This is a disgraceful performance.
ReplyDeleteAbject.
DeleteHow come there seemed to be a few spectators watching the game. I saw two spectators sharing a bottle of wine or something of the bubbly variety. Terrible performance by us. Hoping for better on Sunday. We must play both the front line leg spinners.
