Looks like being a rain effected game here so I'm not sure we'll get a positive result. Our record against Leicester isn't too bad so I'm going for a Derbyshire win weather permitted. Let's hope our bowling shows a 100% improvement though
A disappointing day really. I'm struggling to see where the wickets are going to come sufficiently for us to put pressure on sides. Too many 4 balls and it was often all too was for the home batsman.
To say our bowling department hasn't turned up yet is an understatement, absolutely woeful thus far. A rather concerning start to the season if you ask me
I think the best we can hope for now is Leicestershire setting us a target on the final day. It looks very doubtful we will get a full day's play today considering all the rain. On paper their bowling attack shouldn't worry our batters unduly, so we might yet get something out of this game. Whether it would be deserved or not is another matter...
Our bowling attack is not looking threatening, which is both surprising and a little worrying it has to be said.
It looks like you’re right Jasper. I don’t mind a manufactured target when the weather is the cause as opposed to a benign pitch. I’d rather see that on day 4 than a grind for bonus points. Hopefully a reasonable agreement can be made. Craig
A somewhat better day - 4 bonus points, a terrific shift from Zak C and good runs for Brooke G. The break may have come at a good time - we'll see what the response is v Durham.

ReplyDeleteI want to concentrate on the positives - so I'll just say that we only conceded 2 runs from no balls today!
ReplyDeletep.s. All the best Peak Fan - Hope all goes well

Another blank day at Leicester due to wet outfield. At least we'll get a draw out if this game!

ReplyDeleteWhat we have learned so far this season is that, Chappell aside, our bowling department needs to be sharper.
ReplyDeleteI thought we might have pushed for 300 to secure the extra batting point.
It was good to see Guest replicating his form of last season.
