Seconds lose at Scarborough

Yorkshire Seconds beat Derbyshire by nine wickets at Scarborough today. 

Continuing their second innings, Derbyshire were all out for 245, with Naeem following his first innings 64 with 73. Nick Potts made an unbeaten 52, but Moriarty took 5-77 with his left arm spin and Yorkshire required only 43 to win.

They got the runs for the loss of only one wicket, to Rory Haydon.

  1. I’ve been at Scarborough this week and have enjoyed watching the 2XI at an all time great cricket ground.

    Haydon and Stewart were relentless with the ball on a deck which didn’t look like it offered much especially on the first day.

    Some good innings from Donald, Bin Naem and Potts but they couldn’t go on further to make a 100 like Will luxton. Some dismissals were disappointing especially the run outs and some rash shots which certainly could have been avoided with more care.

    Although we have to remember it is a young inexperienced group who have their whole futures ahead of them.
    Hopefully they can learn from this game.
