The game is important for both sides. Surrey need a win and for Gloucestershire to beat Northamptonshire to gain promotion. Derbyshire's target is fourth place and a positive conclusion to a campaign of rich promise.

I sense a two day defeat coming. I didn't notice obvious signs of Palladino or Sutton being injured on Saturday, and with so little experience in the batting, might have thought about Park.
ReplyDeleteLooking at it another way, our chances of promotion next year might be helped by having the ageing Northants in Div 2 rather than a developing Surrey?
Not so sure about a 2 day defeat, but you're right - I think Northants next year will be more beatable than this Surrey side, which has the look of a division one side.
