Don Amott - update

I've been asked to do an interview about Don Amott's departure tomorrow morning on Radio Derby.

At this stage I know no more than that it will be sometime between 7am and 9am.

If that's too early, I'm sure you can get it later on BBC i player if you're interested!

  3. I dont think DA would leave us to go under so we can assume that we will be in safe hands.

  4. Radio Derby - "Disagreement with other committee members....", acording to comments from Don Amott.

  5. My guess is cg wanted DA to match him and put more money into the club, thats what the disagreement is probably about. ITS diffcult to stay as chairman if a committee member is putting more money into the club than you.

  6. It doesn't seem to be anything to do with Chris Grant, at least from what was said on Radio Derby this morning.

There was a good interview with Don Amott on RD this morning, as well as an enlightening piece in today's Derby Telegraph, in which the writer Mark Eklid names the three club officers with whom Don Amott apparently disagreed. The article says that they were David Griffin (Hon Sec), vice chairman Phil Kirby and the honorary treasurer Malcolm Nicholas.

I can't post the link to this article, as it's not on the Derby Telegraph site just yet.

  8. An interest point was on Radio Derby when Charles Said he thought that you had to be on the committee for a year before you could be chairmen, this rules out Chris Grant and considering he does not look involved in this, it seems unlikely he will be new chairmen but I do think that it seems increasingly likely that Phil Kirby could be the new chairmen.

  9. If it is right that Griffin, Kirby and Nicholas have been working behind the backs of the rest of the committee then all three should walk and Don should be asked to return.

  12. I am glad to hear that Chris Grant is not one of the '3 Rats' but I wonder what he must be thinking?

  13. I'll be speaking to other "official partners" this week, to put pressure on Griffin, Kirkby and Nicholas to walk, by committing to not renew sponsorship agreements whilst they are in post. That they should go behind the general committee's backs is bad enough, that they should benefit by keeping posts or standing for chairman is unthinkable.

Griffin is a snake who has worked for a long time on undermining DA, who has given everything and more for this club... what sort of people think they can call a meeting and decide to reduce the first team coaches salary by 30%, no understanding of employee law, no understanding of working with people and building relationships.

If these people stay in post then Griffin and his crew will need to revise budgets big time with the shortfall for next year, as you can guaruntee that Loring will walk too, he won't work with these clowns.

Its a joke and the committee need to back John Morris, Keith Loring and Don Amott, GRIFFIN, KIRKBY AND NICHOLAS MUST RESIGN OR BE FORCED OUT NOW

  16. Agree, we have got to keep Amott, Loring and Morris at all costs. The time is up for Griffin and co.
