Well, well, well....

Come on you Saltires!

So Scotland turn in a sensational performance and open up our group in the FP Trophy. You'd have got long odds on that before the game, and even longer when the Scots made a little over 150. Their Aussie professional Ed Cowan is scoring prolifically in club cricket so far and averages around 300, but has struggled to get going for the national side. His innings today was crucial.
Blain, Nel and Wright are all decent seamers and Drummond a rising talent, while Glenn Rogers, who took two wickets yesterday, bowled a terrific ten over spell for just two an over. It makes the decision to omit him from recent games all the more bizarre, as he was their steadiest bowler at the World Cup.

I'll admit to being a little biased, as Glenn is a mate of mine and plays for our club whenever he's free of national commitments. He bats three for us, and has several hundreds to his name, which shows the gulf in class between top club and county standard. He'll be thrilled to at least have hooked Charl to the boundary, and I look forward to hearing his detailed descriptions of his two dismissals. Should take at least a pint each, I'd have thought!

Anyway, we sit nicely in the group at the half way stage, with perhaps three wins needed from the last four matches. If we make the quarters, who knows what might happen, but we'll take each match in turn and keep fingers crossed.
