There is one change to the Derbyshire squad for tomorrow's game at the Incora County Ground against Northamptonshire Steelbacks, with wicketkeeper Brooke Guest returning after a groin strain. Nye Donald has returned to Hampshire.
I am pleased to see the effervescent Guest back in the squad, as he has become a big player for Derbyshire. I would expect Tom Wood to come into the side, either as opener or at number five. With Peter Moores having highlighted Derbyshire's limitations of hitting, outside the top four, it is an area where Wood can help. As I wrote the other day, I would open with him and have Ali at five against an older ball.
Our visitors have endured a difficult start and big hitting Australian, Chris Lynne has yet to fire for them. Both sides will be anxious for a win to kickstart their campaigns in this competition.

ReplyDeleteThe best financial decision I have made in my life was fixing the last 10 years of my mortgage at 2.25%. Amongst the nominations would be not buying a season ticket this season. Shambolic is a description not confined to today’s batting. Roll on 2024….
ReplyDeleteIsn't the definition of madness doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? Very confusing team selection again and a shambolic display duly followed. How much are we paying Micky Arthur? He needs to step up and earn his wages.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you start the club makes a record profit and then goes and employs a couple of bang average overseas players the club is run by management board who are only interested in making money it will be interesting to see how long Mickey Arthur hangs around before he decides he's had enough and walks away
