No one could argue it was undeserved. He has had two special Blast summers for Derbyshire and it is further proof that the county is back on the England radar.
I hope that he is selected and gets a chance to show a wider audience what he can do.
As I have written before, in sixty summers supporting Derbyshire I haven't seen anyone hit a ball as cleanly as he does. Chris Wilkins and Adrian Kuiper were prodigious hitters of a ball - and with old style bats - but Nye takes it to a different level.
I am sure you will join me in congratulating him and hoping that the next step is selection for the England XI
