Gloucestershire v Derbyshire day three

Please put your comments here.

Has there not been so much movement/spin today or did the Gloucestershire batters just do a very good job?

With the forecast, a draw looking the most likely result now?

I think it’s one of those days you have to give credit to the other team they batted very well especially Bancroft who hardly gave a chance or looked like getting out. Very odd captaincy today though with dal and Andesson hardly bowling even though nothing was happening for anyone else. Not necessarily this match but when you look at this weeks scores you have to conclude that English wickets and kookaburra balls aren’t a good match and the experiment should finish. It’s not like England cricket selectors look much at who’s doing well in county cricket anyway

Dismal day and as feared Bancroft has hammered us. We're the draw specialists now and not sure that will get us promotion this season

    1. Think you need to give credit where due, CB. Bancroft and van Buuren did what Madsen and Came did before them. And fears about the Kookaburra seem to be justified from scores around the country.

  3. A very good effort from Gloucestershire today but it was a Derbyshire specialty batting collapse yesterday that allowed this to happen. Gloucestershire should have been facing a deficit of 350 on first innings.
Maybe a good night's rest will result in 7 wickets tomorrow morning.

    1. Not seen it at all today, but while I agree we should have had a bigger lead, I assume from comments that nothing is happening with the ball? As I said elsewhere, some big scores in most places

    2. Spot on Ian. Guest, Dal, Andersson and Thomson contributing a paltry total of 21 completely let Glos off the hook ( and cost us 2 bonus points). Yes the pitch might be flat but that extra scoreboard pressure may have made all the difference.

  4. Its Gloucester's call. We should have been more in control of matters, but the first innings collapse was at least untypical. Roll on sunday.

  5. Disappointing day, Gloucestershire dug in well, the pitch didn't offer the hell we were hoping for and the draw seems inevitable.

With David Lloyd not bowling I assume he has an issue of some kind?

  6. Let's not forget how Gloucs collapsed in there 1st Innings.I think a lead of over 200 is plenty but on a pitch as flat as this one we were always going to struggle for wickets.Draw will keep us in the hunt and as Peakfan said their is big scores elsewhere so plenty of draws likely.Topspinner

  7. A couple of half chances but the wicket seems to have got easier and the kookaburra ball is benign after 40 overs , will need some major intervention to get a result
