Apart from Reece and Jewell who have had good games and a 2 or 3 other half decent performances we have been dreadful. Half the side look like blokes down the pub who have been press ganged against their will to play cricket. After just 10 overs in the field the body language of most players looked like we had been fielding for 2 days. The only thing which could have slowed the over rate up anymore was if the Derbyshire players had sat down with some sarnies and bottles of beer for a picnic. Lloyd and Morley looked like they didn’t want to bowl. Lloyd actually looks like he wants/ needs a long break( maybe very long) away from cricket. Let’s hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow because Leicestershire deserve to wrap up a win and we certainly deserve to lose

  2. Credit to Reece and Thomson who bowled well but the damage was already done. one good partnership from the excellent Holland and Green and the lead was suddenly massive.

It’s not been a good game for Morley who should have thrived in these conditions. With the top 4 all gone with only Jewell showing any resistance, it’s just a matter of time tomorrow. Need a bit of a rethink before the game at Northants as there’s some players out there giving off the body language of someone with zero confidence, none more so than Lloyd.

Probably be a crowd of about 10 there for the final day tomorrow and they'll all be Leicestershire fans. Outplayed again and the rot has set in for me, forget any hopes of promotion we'll be finishing 4th or 5th. Nothing against David Lloyd but he's not worthy of a start now, bring Wagstaff in or a high order bat from the 2nd eleven. We're just a squad top heavy with bang average cricketers, but hey we've won two championship matches this season so things are looking up

Words fail me seeing poor David Lloyd's latest addition to his show reel entitled 'how I got myself out'

  5. I suppose Leics are going to win the league and have beaten Lancs by an innings this season. They've certainly looked on a different level to us in this game, so far. Kris

  6. Casting my mind back to the end of last season David Lloyd did an interview in which he came across as being very much affected by the trials and tribulations of leading the side and his own form. Cricket can be a tough gig when you are not in form.

  7. Downthewicket here. With the top four blown away, we seem to be heading for defeat. I can't see us scoring enough runs to win the game (unless Donald goes berserk), or batting through tomorrow to save it.

Leicestershire had three centurions in their first innings, despite so many players troubling the scorers, and Holland made 90 in the second innings. That says it all.

Our top order has struggled to hit big scores all season. They get to fifty and above, but, in many games, haven't managed to press on to three figures.

Fantastic performance by Reece, and also Thomson, but to no avail, I fear.

  8. I wish Arthur would do the decent thing and leave, he has turned my club into a shambles, please just go and take your useless staff with you

  9. Believe it or not there are some people within the club who actually think he’s doing a great job , his record in the C/C prior to the current match is P-50 W-6 L-14 , I would be very surprised if he was to stand down as head coach having signed an extension to his contract, clearly bringing in a high profile coach hasn’t worked so far ,personally I would have not extended Mickey’s contact I would have preferred Ben Smith
