Derbyshire v Nottinghamshire day 3

No play yesterday, which given my lack of time last night was no bad thing.

It doesn't look like there will be a full day's play today either, so Derbyshire's batsmen have every incentive to battle and get a draw from the game. You could argue that our efforts so far don't deserve one (honourable exceptions for Messrs Hughes and Reece) but given the farcical ending at Trent Bridge, when we were robbed of a win, perhaps a draw might even things out a little.

More from me later.

  1. To be honest, I'm astounded we're playing after close to 36 hours non-stop rain, so all credit to the groundstaff. I hadn't expected to be going today but will go along shortly in the hope of seeing a robust resistance. Surviving 75 overs should be well within our compass, although the pitch will probably be as damp again as the first day after it's time under the covers.
