Breaking news tonight that experienced Surrey and former England seamer Jade Dernbach has joined Derbyshire on loan, as reported by the County Cricket Podcast.
More on that from me and a Worcestershire preview tomorrow. Dernbach is in the squad for the game.
Broken record but aren’t Derbyshire already overloaded with bowlers a batsman might be more useful
ReplyDeleteStrange one. Can't say I've ever warmed to him as a cricketer and he'd seemingly disappeared but hey ho, good luck to the lad.
ReplyDeletePart of me would have like to have used our own resources and live and die by the strength of our own squad but I can see benefits with this signing as his experience especially in white ball cricket may help the younger bowlers.
ReplyDeleteSurrey can’t think much of him if they’ve effectively done a swap with Mckerr? He was England’s death bowler 4/5 years ago. Must be yipped up. Let’s hope he finds some of his old form. Think he was one of the first bowlers to do the out the back of the hand slower ball which was very affective back then.
ReplyDeleteMust say whenever I've seen him for Surrey and England he has been total rubbish.
ReplyDeleteOf course, he clearly must have something to get as far as he has in the game. Hopefully, he can pass on some good experience to the younger bowlers.
Hopefully a signing that will work out well.
