Good news in the three-year deal for 17 year old slow left arm bowler Tom Knight, the first to reap the benefit of the club's youth blueprint.It is just reward for some encouraging early performances by the bowler, with the contract starting from next year and running until 2014.
I thoroughly expect to hear of a few more in the next couple of weeks or so.
Peakfan, please don't give us anymore of this 'blueprint' stuff. It was obvious that when JM took Knight on the tour of Barbados and gave him his debut that the boy could play. He would therefore have got a contract with or without Mr. Grant's blueprint based on his undoubted ability.
ReplyDeleteYes, but he's the first signed after the announcement of the blueprint, isn't he? Presumably he's not being signed on a £1K summer deal either...
