Cracking!

There was a very promising innings of 130 from Martin Guptill today as New Zealand posted a score of 311-6 against Ireland in a World Cup warm up match.

The Irish have a decent attack, including former Derbyshire bowler Boyd Rankin, but Guptill batted until two overs from the end of the innings and hit 12 fours and 3 sixes in a fine display that should win them the match.

I'm feeling good about that lad. I think he is going to be next 'big' Kiwi batsman and I'm delighted that we'll see him at Derbyshire for the second half of the season.

  1. Yes, I think John Morris has got us another good signing in Guptill.

  3. Can anyone confirm if our main sponsor Printability have gone bankrupt? If so what are the consequences for the club?

  4. Does anybody know whether we will be playing in those light blue pajamas in the one dayers next season? I would prefer to see us play in the navy blue trimmed with gold training kit colours.

  5. No news on pre-season matches as yet - they've to be confirmed.
Nor indeed on the kit for the coming year, which will be revealed fairly soon.
As for Printability - no, they've not gone bust to my knowledge and their website is still up and running fine.
If they did ever go bust, we'd neeed to find another sponsor!
