It would be a shame if the weather prevented a result. Initially it seemed to be a result pitch but it sounds like it has settled down a lot. Hopefully the weather warms up a bit for the weekend!

Spireite TimAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46846306391908034.post-12187281944320416452012-04-06T22:20:35.569+01:002012-04-06T22:20:35.569+01:00The ladies in the County Ground Tea Room reported ...The ladies in the County Ground Tea Room reported good business today, and I'm nor surprised, as it was teeth-chatteringly cold outside.

But as far as the cricket was concerned, I see even the club site uses the word "attritional". Nevertheless the playing highlights for me were the absolutely stunning catch by Dan Redfern, and like you say Peakfan, the highly efficient wicket-keeping by Tom Poynton - I really was quite impressed by him. He seems to make ground quickly to his left, through which, today, he must a saved quite a few runs.

Me-thinks a promising season awaits. Have a safe journey back home, and when you 'turn your own arm over' up there in the nether-regions I trust that the weather will be somewhat warmer than it was in Derby today.Alannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46846306391908034.post-246645549787942462012-04-06T21:42:47.018+01:002012-04-06T21:42:47.018+01:00great summary peakfan and sorry i missed you at th...great summary peakfan and sorry i missed you at the ground today - blimey wasnt it cold - i think a draw is likely as sunday looks a washout - some tidy bowling as you say but never overly threatening - safe trip back northcrewebladenoreply@blogger.com
