Messrs, Grant, Krikken, and Houghton need to come out and make some sort of statement after this game and explain how bad this season has been. The silence has been deafening from that trio all season. Mr Storey was interviewed on our local news bulletin on Wednensday night, and he was beaming when being told what a bad day Derbyshire had had in the field. His reply " well we had 2000 spectators in today ". That's all that matters obviously to DCCC nowadays, bums on seats. We are a complete embarrasment to cricket and maybe we should be asking the likes of Devon and Cornwall if we could join there league, so we could at least be competitive. Pathetic Derbyshire.Marknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46846306391908034.post-83222168489545603992013-07-19T00:59:12.879+01:002013-07-19T00:59:12.879+01:00I,m seriously thinking about giving tomorrow a mis...I,m seriously thinking about giving tomorrow a miss, though I will probably finish up going. It,s difficult to know what to say that hasn,t already been said over and over. I think we will do well (and I use that term very loosely) to survive through tomorrow. I think i,m probably as demoralised as the players right now. It really can,t get any worse than this.

I didn,t see Borringtons twitter as I never use it,though it sounds to me like he was merely reporting the facts. It,s a good job it wasn,t me,but having had my wings clipped i,ll leave it at that. This is a season nobody will forget, for all the wrong reasons.Marcnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46846306391908034.post-24563921910003671452013-07-18T23:16:01.710+01:002013-07-18T23:16:01.710+01:00It's really sad to see how utterly out of our ...It's really sad to see how utterly out of our depth we are. We expected, I think, to see us need to have our better players at full strength to be able to compete at this level but it simply hasn't happened. The back up players have been even more outclassed as the season has gone on - with depressingly predictable results.

Chesney Hughes, barring one innings that evidence suggests was a freak, has been chronically out of form and surely needs to be replaced by almost anyone.

Wes Durston is one of my favourite Derbyshire players - I think a hell of a lot of him - but his 4 day record has been dire and if anything is getting worse.

Dan Redfern was expected, by me at least, to kick on and show a little class this season. No idea what's gone wrong - is he not as good as I thought or is it a rather elongated 'blip'?

I could go on but won't. There are many who should ask what more they can have done this season - if it's as simple as 'not good enough' then perhaps we can all deal with that and look forward to a repeat of last season against gentle medium pace and leaden footed batsman prepared to wander in from of our bowlers.

I need some inspiration to be made to feel I want to go on Sunday. I know it's a different competition but the feelings don't change.Tim, Chesterfieldnoreply@blogger.com
