Unless you know the guy and the way he works, you cannot make such sweeping statements.

I think they will have a good look at John and rightly so. By the time someone else comes in we will be in or out of the competitions, so better they give the successful candidate a chance by appointing at the end of the season - when others who might be interested may be out of contract and the chosen man starts with a clean slate and can recruit as he sees fit. There is no other alternative if you ask me, as Sadler would just follow in the same way as Krikken and Welch have gone. I think it was only a matter of time before the trigger was pulled Peakfan, as regards Welch's departure because results just haven't been happening, and maybe were showing no signs of changing.

It's sad, and let's hope we get this next decision right.Marknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46846306391908034.post-28460578941381837102016-06-04T13:23:03.135+01:002016-06-04T13:23:03.135+01:00A good considered piece Peakfan, I know that the b...A good considered piece Peakfan, I know that the board have yet to meet to discuss the future coaching/management arrangements and that there may be a coach working alongside a performance director.

The case for John Sadler if he wants an increased role could be a compelling one. As you say he is very young, not a bad a thing as cricket is changing so fast and he is highly regarded not only in the club but through his own private coaching outside the club. He has worked with all the younger players in the seconds and through two seasons in this role will have built up a good knowledge of all their games, their character plus also that of other young talent at other counties. You cannot always judge the seconds on results as the strength of teams varies on who is not playing for the first eleven but results and performances have been positive and let's not forget winning the second eleven trophy last year was a notable success.

As you rightly say lets not forget thanks to Graeme, the lead role at Derbyshire is never easy and certainly never simple and I hope to see him back involved with the game very soon.Adamnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-46846306391908034.post-83291050919008356322016-06-04T12:13:26.484+01:002016-06-04T12:13:26.484+01:00Martin ,Cheltenham

(Fir the 20-20's it was probably a good decision)

You are unlikely to win many games if you cannot bowl the other side out twice. There is now plenty of opportunity for the array of young fast/medium pacers to grab themselves a regular place in the team , unfortunately it might be somewhat painful whilst this process goes on.
